Website Development

We develop traditional (static) websites including the set up of domains and hosting, design of the content structure, customization of a template of your choice, development of content, addition of optional components such as calendars and email groups; and search engine optimization. For ongoing maintenance, you may either contract with us or another provider, or you may purchase Microsoft Expression Web and maintain your website yourself.

Case Study: Georgia Appalachian Trail Club Website

GATC WebsiteGeorgia Appalachian Trail Club needed help with its website: the dropdown navigation caused problems, the content needed refreshing, and its multi-platform was difficult for volunteers to maintain.

Write Place Designs developed a new website volunteers could manage, customized the design to reinforce the branding, reorganized and edited the content, and added a calendar. See GATC Website.

Content Management Systems

We develop dynamic (CMS) websites including the set up of domains and hosting, installation of the Joomla! or WordPress CMS and database, design of the content structure, customization of a template of your choice, development of content, addition of optional components such as calendars, forums, blogs, and email groups; and search engine optimization. With a CMS website, you may make updates to your website and maintain it through an Internet browser, or you may contract with us or another provider for ongoing maintenance.

Information Design

While we use Information Design principles in all of our work, we also offer Information Design as a stand-alone service to restructure or improve existing communications. Our services include the development of information structures including organization, page layout and design, data charts and graphs, graphic elements, heading structures, information chunking, key words, and indexes.
